Kia Stinger Windshield Wiper Service Mode

With winter and inclement weather inevitably on its way you may want to replace the windshield wipers on your Kia Stinger now, before you need to.

If you haven’t noticed, when not in use the Stinger’s wipers are partially tucked under the car’s hood. If you try and pull the wiper arms into a position to change the blades you will likely scratch your hood, and damage the wiper arm. Don’t do that! So how do you safely change the wiper blades?

To make the wiper blades easily accessible put them “service mode.” To do so follow these instructions:

To Enter Wiper Service Mode

Method #1

  • Make sure the car’s ignition is OFF
  • Press the PUSH TO START ignition button rapidly twice
  • Press the PUSH TO START ignition button a third time, slowly
  • Hold the steering column wiper stalk upwards for two seconds

Method #2

  • After running the engine, turn the car’s ignition OFF, then within 20 seconds…
  • Hold the steering column wiper stalk upwards for two-to-three seconds
